Whale Bay- Nature’s Lap

Whale Bay- Nature’s LapFive minutes drive from Raglan and situated between Mount Karioi and the ocean This wonderful Whale Bay beach would make you feel that you are being looked after by Mother Nature. The beach is a wonderfully quiet and environmentally minded coastal community.

The beach is surrounded with bushes and the idyllic white sand that leaves you totally surprised and wanting to be there forever. The beach is known for it’s surfs. To the left hand side is a favorite spot for surfers. This is an amazing place to learn how to ride the waves. There are also surf schools; that would help you learn the art faster. Sadly, this place is not recommended for beginner surfers or people who want to learn how to start surfing. The car park is at the hill top on Matapouri road after Matapouri Bay. Then you would need to walk it down. Although, the route is simple to follow; you should keep following the track right from the gateway that is adjacent to the car park off Matapouri road and through the native thick bush. You would come across some absolutely breath taking views alongside the track of Whale Bay. Make sure that you seen northwards, along the coast towards Cape Brett and Whananaki that adds magic to the walk. By the time you know it, the beach receives you from there.

The tourists here can also enjoy a variety of organic food restaurants and shops, massage studios, and eco-resorts. This beach could be an ideal vacation place for surfers, travelers, families and individuals wanting to just relax, and escape by the ocean, mountains and beach front surroundings to get energized further.
