Totaranui Beach is situated in the Abel Tasman National Park on the northern coast of the South Island of New Zealand. Totaranui is the long arched golden beach surrounded by the native shrubs. The first thing that catches your sight at the beach is, the golden sand which runs down the crystal clear water of the sea. The water is quite warm and you can enjoy swimming most of the time during day. Totaranui beach is located towards the northern end of Abel Tasman Track, and hence is normally used as starting or ending point for the track.

During peak season (October to April ) you have to book in advance for camping.
Totaranui is at a half hour drive from Golden bay and will take about 2 hours from Nelson, the renowned city of the region. Water taxi services are also available from Marahau to Totaranui beach for people who wants to enjoy a tour from water.
